Companies like Settlement Giant LLC (“Settlement Giant”) choose how they share personal information that they receive from you.  Applicable U.S. federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing.  Applicable U.S. federal law also requires companies like ours to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information.  Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do.

Please note:  If you are a new customer, we can begin sharing your information thirty (30) days from the date we issue this notice.  When you are no longer our customer, we continue to share your information as described in this notice. However, you can contact us at any time to limit our sharing to the extent this notice explains such sharing can be limited.

How do we protect personal information about you that we receive from you (“Personal Information”)?

To protect Personal Information from unauthorized access and use, we use administrative, physical, and technical security measures, including computer safeguards, secured files and buildings, and file access safeguards designed to limit access to Personal Information to individuals we determine need access to Personal Information to fulfill their duties and responsibilities to us.

How do we collect Personal Information?

We collect Personal Information through various means, including but not limited to when you request information from us, when you submit an application to us, when you provide your contact information to us, and when you otherwise provide or authorize us to obtain information about you.

Why can’t I limit all sharing of Personal Information?

The reason you cannot limit all sharing of Personal Information is that U.S. federal law provides you a limited right to limit sharing of Personal Information, as described in the chart above.  Individual states’ laws, as well as other companies, may provide you with additional rights when it comes limiting the sharing of Personal Information.

What if I limit sharing of Personal Information for an account I hold jointly with another person?

If you do so, then your choices will apply to all transactions you and that person jointly completed with us and will apply to that person’s Personal Information too.

DEFINITION

Who or what is an “Affiliate” of Settlement Giant?

For purposes of this Privacy Policy, an “Affiliate” of Settlement Giant is any company that is related to Settlement Giant based on there being common ownership or control.  They can be financial or non-financial companies.  We will provide to you a list of Settlement Giant’s Affiliates promptly after receiving from you a request for such information.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Do Not Call Policy:  This notice is the Settlement Giant Do Not Call Policy under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.  Settlement Giant employees receive training on how to document and process telephone marketing choices.  Consumers who are not then past or present Settlement Giant customers and who ask not to receive telephone solicitations from Settlement Giant will be placed on the Settlement Giant Do Not Call list and will not be called in any future Settlement Giant campaigns.

Call Monitoring and Recording.  If you communicate with us by telephone, we may monitor and/or record the call.

For Residents of the State of California:  Settlement Giant LLC has adopted a policy of not disclosing Personal Information to third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes if the corresponding customer has exercised an option that prevents that information from being disclosed to third parties for those purposes.

You may exercise such an option by following the related directions set forth in this Privacy Policy.  In accordance with applicable California law, we will not share information we collect about you with any company that isn’t an Affiliate of Settlement Giant unless the law allows us to do so.  For example, we may share information with your consent, or to service or audit or fund your transactions, or to provide benefits you are entitled to.  We will limit sharing among our Affiliates to the extent required by California law.

For Residents of the State of Vermont:  In accordance with Vermont law, we will not share information we collect about Vermont residents with companies outside of our corporate family, except as permitted by law, such as with your consent, to service or audit or fund your transactions or with financial institutions (or other companies) with which we have joint marketing agreements.  We will not share information about your creditworthiness within our corporate family except with your authorization or consent, but we may share information about our transactions or experiences with you within our corporate family without your consent.

WEBSITE PRIVACY NOTICES

When you visit or browse our website, we and our advertising, marketing, and/or service partners may collect information such as your Internet Protocol (e.g., your “IP” address), the “URL” of the web pages you visit, and may use “cookies,” web beacons, or other means to collect information about your use of our website and other websites.  Such information allows us to improve the effectiveness of our website and to better orient our advertising or marketing towards individuals whom we believe might benefit or be interested in that.  The information collected can include, but is not necessarily limited to, the addresses of web pages you visit, the date and time of such visits, the websites you visit prior to and after visiting our website, your language preference, demographic information about you, information about the browser you use, and data concerning the popularity of various advertising methods and content we use.

For purposes of this Privacy Policy, a child is defined as an individual less than sixteen (16) years of age.  Our website is not intended for the use of children as so defined and we do not knowingly solicit or collect information from  children as so defined.
